This mornings boosting break…fast was ahead of a training walk, getting my knee strengthened and ready for a trip to the top of Snowdon at the end of June. Living in Suffolk we do not have many hills, and after major knee surgery in 2015 and being told to do no uphill walking for 18 months, my knee is in need of all the help I can give it now.
I am a mountain walker, so the past 2 years have been a struggle, I did manage to get to 900 meters in December on a walk in Spain, but we did actually start at about 300 meters, so 600mts ascent, Snowdon will be 800 mts ascent and a tougher walk than the one in Spain. So 12 weeks left to get this knee ready.
For breakfast this morning I had the usual 50 gms of high protein granola, 25gms of Roasted beans, one kiwi, 6 grapes, one tiny piece of mango, i used Light soya milk and into my Alpro almond I mixed one tsp of Golden Milk powder. Turmeric which has incredible anti inflammatory properties and has been used in Ayurvedic medicine for centuries. In this mix it is with pepper, ginger and guarana.
So if you are interested. Calories 530, Carbs 60 gms, fat 17 gms and protein 30 gms.
I often have the Golden Milk powder in the morning, mixed with one spoonful of Barleycup, a little soya milk and hot water and a squeeze of Agave nectar for a lovely spicy latte. Many people make their own Golden Paste, I will share a link here to Tumeric Life, in case you have never heard of it. I have made it many times, but I prefer to spend time on my meals, so opt for the easy option of pre mixed.

and finally, just because I think it is so important, here is yet another example of why presentation does make a difference, the same great ingredients but all mixed up.

And really finally, what a beautiful morning it was.
