So many things over the years have been labelled…Superfood. On my lunch plate today:
Rye Bread-Rye is a very good source of manganese and a good source of dietary fiber, phosphorus, copper, pantothenic acid and magnesium. It also contains lignan phytonutrients.
Avocado-Avocados contain 8g of fat per 50g serving, over 75% of which are naturally good fats (monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fats).
Samphire-Boasting almost no fat, this vegetable is packed with essential minerals, including magnesium, potassium, calcium and sodium
Pomegranate-The fruit is a good source of antioxidant vitamin-C, provides about 17% per 100 g of the daily requirement. Consumption of fruits rich in vitamin-C helps the body develop resistance against infectious agents by boosting immunity.
Peanut butter-Peanuts are high in protein (25% of their calories come from protein) perfect for maintaining a healthy diet, they are a rich source of vital essential minerals and contain beneficial amino acids as well as containing a good levels of B vitamins. I use Meridian, No Palm oil, nothing but peanuts!
Falafel- is also a good source of soluble fibre, the type that helps lower LDL (bad) cholesterol.
You cant argue with that. A plate of very filling goodness.
