Dinner tonight was a tasty spicy burger. I rarely eat bread unless it is rye or heavily seeded. So I decided I would make cauliflower steaks and use them as a bun alternative.
Cut steaks approximately 1 cm thick, then place into a frying pan with a little water a chopped garlic clove and a teaspoon of cumin. Cook for just a few minutes each side until softened and just starting to brown. Whilst this is cooking, using your preferred burger cook according to the instructions. I used an Indian spiced burger.
I had a small amount of bean curry in the fridge, so heated that up. I put the 2 steaks on to a plate and sprinkled with @buteislandfoods Cheddar style Sheese- so tasty and great for melting. Place under the grill or into a microwave to melt the sheese. Place the burger on top of one of the steaks, Spoon the chickpeas over the top, then carefully pick the other steak up and place on top.
That is all there is to it. One very quick and tasty meal.
